PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

Technical Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life. With the explosion of electronic media, the telecom industry has become one of the fast growing sectors in every corner of the world. This field plays a major role in our day to day life and its technology has helped us to see, hear and communicate over vast distances. In this era of information and communication, more digitally enhanced communication devices like mobiles, internet and satellites are paving the way to an expansion of the wider reach of communication technology. As a result, there is a great demand for trained professionals in this industry and hence the importance of Telecommunication Engineering. Seeing this Daffodil Polytechnic Institute (DPI) is offering 4 years long Diploma in Telecommunication under the approval of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB).

CAREER PROSPECTS

Telecom Engineer with excellent talent in designing, installing and troubleshooting telecom networks are in great demand in telecommunication companies such as Teletalk, Grameen, Robi, Airtel, Banglalink, Nokia, Siemens, Motorola etc. They can work as Telecom hardware and software engineer, telecom system solutions engineer, real-time computer systems developer, performance optimizer, DSP chip design engineer, image processor, video engineer, artificial intelligence and neural network engineer.

DURATION & ASSESSMENT: 

Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering is a 4-year long program consisting of 8 semesters (1 Semester = 6 months). The final and the midterm exams of each semester is conducted under the supervision of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). All the exams question, answer script checking and final results are published by the BTEB. Besides this, each student has to attend the regular class test, quiz test, and semester final project. After the successful completion, a student will receive a Diploma in engineering certificate from BTEB

ACADEMIC SESSION


The Admission procedure starts after the SSC results. There is mainly one session in a year. Students have to follow the admission announcement which is given by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board Authority. Usually, the admission procedure starts after May (depending on the SSC Result).

CAREER PATH: 

The Telecommunications  engineer career is a fairly new development in engineering specialties and has come about along with the growth of the Telecommunications industry. Telecom engineers specialize in designing and maintaining Telecommunications systems. They develop, test and supervise the manufacturing of electronic equipment used in this industry; as a result, telecom engineering can be considered a specialization of the electronic engineering field
